AMCA has made its entire library of technical standards available free of charge to AMCA members.

Each of AMCA’s 21 standards can be downloaded in PDF format at no cost through AMCA’s new community portal in the Members Publications and Standards Library community. Printed editions still can be purchased through AMCA’s online store.

Available are:

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 99-16, Standards Handbook.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 204-20, Balance Quality and Vibration Levels for Fans.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 205-19, Energy Efficiency Classification for Fans.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 207-17, Fan System Efficiency and Fan System Input Power.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 208-18, Calculation of the Fan Energy Index.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 210-16/ASHRAE 51-16, Laboratory Methods of Testing Fans for Certified Aerodynamic Performance Rating.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 214-21, Test Procedure for Calculating Fan Energy Index (FEI) for Commercial and Industrial Fans and Blowers.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 220-21, Laboratory Methods of Testing Air Curtain Units for Aerodynamic Performance Rating.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 230-23, Laboratory Methods of Testing Air Circulating Fans for Rating and Certification (with errata).

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 240-22, Laboratory Methods of Testing Positive Pressure Ventilators for Aerodynamic Performance Rating.

·     ANSI/AMCA Standard 250-22, Laboratory Methods of Testing Jet Fans for Performance.

Armin Hauer, manager, regulatory and government affairs, ebm-papst, a member of the AMCA board of directors, examined other organizations’ policies regarding standards access. He concluded that adoption of standards is hindered if the documents only are available for purchase.

In addition to facilitating adoption, providing free access “is a cost savings for AMCA members,” Hauer said. “Everyone is enabled to keep their library of AMCA standards up-to-date, which then helps to avoid engineering disputes about technical requirements. Finally, it is hoped that specification frequency for AMCA certification increases.”
